It has been my honor to serve the women, men, and families of Rhode Island’s First Congressional District. These have been extremely difficult times for our state and nation, and I am working hard every day to deliver results for Rhode Islanders. Whether it is advocating for federal funding to help Rhode Island recover from this pandemic, championing infrastructure investments that create good paying jobs in our state, leading the fight to combat corporate monopolies, end price gouging, and provide relief to consumers, fighting for the priorities that reflect our shared values, or helping constituents secure the benefits they’ve earned and deserve – I am grateful for the opportunity to be there for Rhode Islanders. WASHINGTON, DC – Today, ahead of voting for H.R. 7666, Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act, Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01) urged his colleagues to support the legislation which provides resources and support to address the mental health and substance use disorder crises facing millions of Americans.
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01), Vice Chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, today introduced H.Res.1192, a Congressional resolution recognize June 21 as National Asking Saves Kids (ASK) Day. The National ASK Day initiative, led by Brady, encourages parents to ask each other – “Is there a loaded, unsecured gun in your house?” National ASK Day is meant to prevent family fire, shootings involving an improperly stored or misused gun found in the home that results in death or injury. Unintentional shootings, suicides, and intentional shootings are all forms of family fire.
WASHINGTON, DC – Before voting to pass H.R. 7606, the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act, Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01), Chair of the Antitrust Subcommittee, spoke on the House floor to urge all his colleagues to support the bipartisan package. The bill will help lower prices for America’s families in the grocery aisle and at the gas pump by giving America’s farmers and ranchers the support they need to thrive.   Through various policies and mechanisms, the legislation will reduce America’s dependence on foreign fertilizer production, strengthen competition in the meat and poultry sector and alleviate the supply chain bottlenecks that allows corporate giants to set bad prices for producers and consumers, and expand access to American-made Unleaded 88 fuel.

PROVIDENCE, RI - Congressman David Cicilline (R-01) will welcome Dr. Jill Biden, the Second Lady of the United States and wife of Vice President Joe Biden, as a special guest and honoree at his 4th annual Women's Luncheon on Monday, November 17. The event serves as an annual celebration of local women, their accomplishments and contributions to Rhode Island, and benefits Congressman Cicilline's reelection campaign.
