Congressman Cicilline Encourages All Eligible Rhode Islanders to Enroll in Affordable Connectivity Program

PROVIDENCE, RI – Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01) is encouraging all eligible Rhode Islanders to register for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). The ACP, created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, is already delivering savings to tens of millions of American households. Today, the Biden Administration announced commitments from 20 leading internet providers to either increase internet speeds or cut prices, capping out-of-pocket costs at $30/month for ACP-enrolled homes. These 20 providers cover more than 80 percent of the U.S. population. More information is available at the newly launched
“In this day and age, every Rhode Islander needs access to affordable, high-speed internet. This isn’t a luxury, but a necessity for everything from our kids’ schoolwork, to applying for jobs, or accessing government services and resources,” said Congressman Cicilline. “We created the Affordable Connectivity Program, the largest high-speed internet affordability program in our nation’s history, to make sure that no one is left behind – no matter where they live or their paycheck. If Rhode Islanders who live in the First Congressional District need help enrolling in this program, my office can help – you can call us at 401-729-5600 or send me an email at”
Households can qualify for the ACP based on income, enrollment in federal assistance programs, or enrollment in tribal assistance programs. More information on eligibility is available here.
