Cicilline Statement on Yom Hashoah

Thursday, May 2, 2019

WASHINGTON – Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01) issued the following statement today:

“On Holocaust Remembrance Day – Yom Hashoah – we remember six million Jews who were murdered during the worst genocide in our history. This year, we are especially mindful of the growing threat of anti-Semitism both here at home and across the globe, and I am praying for the families of those who lost a loved one in the recent horrific attacks on synagogues.”

“All of us have a responsibility to condemn anti-Semitism and hatred of any kind. It doesn’t matter whether it comes at a white nationalist protest, in an editorial cartoon for a major newspaper, or from an elected official. History shows us what happens when anti-Semitism is allowed to fester and metastasize.”

“Today, and for all the days to come, let us commit ourselves to this simple, yet powerful, promise: ‘Never again.’”
