R.I. delegation applauds Obama’s emphasis on economic issues

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island’s congressional delegation, Democrats all, reacted favorably Tuesday to President Obama’s State of the Union address.

Sen. Jack Reed said he thought Mr. Obama “gave a strong, powerful speech, emphasizing the need to work together, to make real investments in our economy and work force, to create jobs, and to help people struggling to find jobs by extending unemployment compensation.”
