Cicilline Statement on President's Decision To End TPS for 200,000 Salvadorans

Monday, January 8, 2018

PAWTUCKET - U.S. Representative David N. Cicilline (RI-01), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following statement:

"The decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 200,000 Salvadorans is cruel and short-sighted. It will tear apart families, disrupt our economy, and undermine our strategic goals in Latin America."

"Congress must immediately pass legislation to shield these individuals from deportation by the Trump Administration, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to make that happen."
