Cicilline Statement on Latest Round of Mueller Indictments

Friday, February 16, 2018

WASHINGTON – Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC) Co-Chair David N. Cicilline (RI-01), a member of the House Foreign Affairs and Judiciary Committees, issued the following statement today after Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals for interfering in the 2016 American elections:

“Today’s indictment makes two things clear: Robert Mueller is doing his job and President Trump is putting our national security at risk.”

“The President needs to impose the sanctions on Russia for interfering in our presidential election that Congress passed overwhelmingly last year. He needs to acknowledge that Russia interfered in 2016 to benefit his presidential campaign. He needs to work with Congress to ensure the security of our elections going forward. And he needs to stop interfering in the Special Counsel’s investigation.”
