Cicilline Statement on Conyers Stepping Down as Ranking Member of Judiciary Committee

Sunday, November 26, 2017

PAWTUCKET - U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, issued the following statement today:

“Given the seriousness of the allegations against him, it was appropriate for Congressman Conyers to step down as Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee. I have tremendous respect for the work he has done to serve our country, but the accusations that have been presented against him in recent days are very serious. The Ethics Committee needs to conduct a thorough, impartial investigation into these accusations as quickly as possible.”
