Cicilline Statement on Allegations Trump Shared Classified Intel with Russia

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline (D-RI) issued the following statement after the Washington Post reported that President Donald Trump improperly shared classified intelligence with Russian officials last week:

"If this report is true, it's the height of incompetence. The President's most important responsibility is our national security. Sharing classified secrets with Russia jeopardizes our intelligence community and the security of our entire country."

"The Trump administration needs to provide Congress with a classified briefing on what information was shared and what damage has been done to our national security."
