Thursday, January 18, 2018

PAWTUCKET – Today, Congressman David Cicilline (RI-01) encouraged Elementary Schools across Rhode Island’s First Congressional District to participate in the “Valentines for Veterans” program.

“Every Valentine’s Day, I look forward to distributing Valentines, made by Rhode Island school children, to our state’s veterans and active duty servicemembers as tokens of our sincere gratitude for their incredible service and sacrifice.  I encourage all Elementary School students, teachers and principals to contact my office to learn more about how to participate in this wonderful tradition,” Cicilline said.

The deadline for submitting cards is Wednesday, February 7th. Cicilline will then distribute these Valentine’s Day cards to local veterans and veteran organizations. This is the seventh year in a row that he has organized the “Valentines for Veterans” program.

Elementary schools interested in preparing Valentines for Vets should contact Cicilline’s office by calling 729-5600 or emailing
